American Airlines 2019
To support the launch of Main Cabin Extra, a major milestone for American Airlines, I was asked to help communicate product benefits that felt flat or uninspiring to the average traveler. A traditional shoot on an aircraft is extremely expensive and complicated to execute, so instead, we developed a social-first campaign using stop-motion animation to creatively express the value of the upgrade.
This approach allowed us to get to market quickly, stay within budget, and avoid operational hurdles, all while maintaining visual alignment with the American Airlines brand. It also solved the challenge of promoting a product we couldn’t photograph, and ultimately resulted in a campaign the client loved.
The initial Campaign was so well received that we revived it to announce key product updates to the American Airline’s App.
